Hardy Street Studios Update May 25, 2009
Wow! The response has been very nearly overwhelming with studio spaces leasing faster than we can build them! And the folks we have leased to are an absolutely fantastic group of creatives. A great mix of artists, photographers, video producers and more. If you want to join in this dynamic artist's community...act fast! As of May 25th, all 24 of the new studios have leased, but several new studios will likely be constructed and available sometime around late August or September. Nance Street Studios is one of the newest additions to Houston's historic downtown art/warehouse district. All new working spaces in a 1930, all masonry structure. We have several sizes of spaces available that range from about 350 square feet all the way up to 2000. The studios all open onto an extra wide hallway that culminates at an enclosed, interior dock with a 12' x 16' overhead door for easy loading, no matter what the weather.
This is a space designed by and for "working" artists who are serious about selling their work and understand the value of being located in the heart of Houston's oldest and most active art community.

Nance Street Studios Artist Ray Phillips Moved a Lot of Art at The 2008 Bayou City Art Festival in Memorial Park
March 28 - 30 was a good weekend for Ray Phillips and family. He and his wife/business partner Rosie worked their magic on the crowd at the park and sold over a dozen pieces of his very distinctive and original abstract art. Here are a few shots taken during the show...

It was a long weekend but very a successful one. But only because Ray & Rosie work hard. He was up painting into the early morning hours every night for weeks before the show. And Max Harrison (on the right, lower photo), owner of the hot, hip M2 Gallery at 325 W. 19th St. in the Heights showed his appreciation for their efforts by helping out all weekend.
